On August 22, 2025, a round table on the topic “Sustainable Development of Eco-Culture in the Baikonur District” was held at the Akimat building of Baikonur District, Astana. The event took place as part of the national environmental campaign “Taza Kazakhstan”.

The round table brought together representatives of JSC “Zhasyl Damu”, the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Department of Environmental Protection and Nature Use of Astana, public organizations, educational institutions, district activists, as well as experts from ECO Network implementing projects in ecological culture development, waste separation, and responsible consumption.

Key topics of discussion included the development of the “Green Office” and “Green School” programs in Baikonur District, the introduction of regional environmental initiatives and projects, fostering ecological awareness among children and youth, prospects for establishing an EcoHub modeled after the one in Almaty, and the formation of a working group to implement joint initiatives with the district akimat.

Representatives of JSC “Zhasyl Damu” emphasized that shaping ecological culture at the district level and engaging local communities in environmental initiatives is an important step in implementing state policy in the field of environmental protection. Special attention was given to the presentation of the EcoQolday information system, which simplifies interaction between educational institutions, businesses, and government bodies in the field of ecology. Participants were shown how the platform operates, its advantages for educational organizations and businesses, and its prospects for nationwide development.
