JSC “Zhasyl Damu,” together with the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan, represented the country at international negotiations dedicated to developing a global agreement to combat plastic pollution. The negotiations took place in Geneva, Switzerland, bringing together representatives from 170 countries worldwide.
The Kazakh delegation, which included specialists from JSC “Zhasyl Damu,” actively participated in discussions and working sessions, sharing the country’s experience and making proposals to reduce plastic waste generation, eliminate accumulated pollution, and protect marine ecosystems.
Although the meeting concluded without the signing of a final agreement, the international community continues its joint efforts to shape it. The Kazakh side intends to further contribute to the negotiation process, develop the recycling system, and implement measures to reduce plastic pollution at the national level.
