Kazakhstan’s Minister of Ecology Holds Meeting with Executive Secretary of International Environmental Conventions

Today, the Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Yerlan Nyssanbayev, held a bilateral meeting with Rolph Payet, Executive Secretary of the Basel, Rotterdam, and Stockholm Conventions.

During the meeting, the parties discussed issues of cooperation within the framework of these conventions, including the management of hazardous waste, control of chemicals, and the implementation of obligations related to persistent organic pollutants.

The Kazakh side also presented information on measures and projects being implemented at the national level in the field of environmental safety.

The meeting was also attended by Yerzhan Sarsenbay, Chairman of the Board of JSC “Zhasyl Damu.”
