Online discussion with representatives of waste disposal organizations

On July 15, 2025, Joint Stock Company “Zhasyl damu” held an online discussion with representatives from waste disposal organizations in the Zhetysu, East Kazakhstan, Abai and Pavlodar regions of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Nurzhan Kenesbayevich Kabdoldanov, Deputy Chairman of the Management Board of JSC "Zhasyl damu", served as a speaker for the event.

Among the main agenda items were clarifications to the amendments made to the Rules for the allocation of funds by the EPR Operator for organizing the collection, transportation, preparation for reuse, sorting, processing, recycling, neutralization and (or) disposal of waste. In particular, it was noted that that waste disposal companies serving the public have been included in the list of organizations eligible for support in implementing separate collection and sorting systems by installing appropriate infrastructure (recycling collection points, reverse vending machines (fandomats), separate waste collection containers).

Approximately 50 representatives of waste disposal organizations from the aforementioned regions participated in the online discussion, as well as representatives from the National Chamber of Entrepreneurs of the Republic of Kazakhstan "Atameken" and local executive bodies overseeing environmental and housing and communal services. Issues of interaction with the EPR Operator, the procedure for concluding contracts, submitting reports and making payments for each ton of collected, transported and recycled waste were clarified. The discussion also covered the issues related to increasing the amount of monetary payments for each type of secondary raw materials payable by the EPR Operator, as well as the prospects for the development of waste collection and recycling sector.
