On September 10 and 12, 2025, JSC Zhasyl Damu conducted a series of offline seminars for waste management companies in the cities of Aktobe, Aktau, and Kokshetau. The events were organized with the support of regional akimats and aimed to explain the principles of working with the EcoQolday information system.
Around 100 industry representatives — including managers and specialists of companies responsible for the collection and sorting of municipal solid waste — took part in the seminars. The main focus was placed on recent amendments to the Rules for the Use of Funds by the EPR Operator, as well as issues of cooperation, contract management, reporting, and receiving payments for waste recycling.
In Aktau, participants were welcomed by Ruslan Tukenov, Director of the Department of Waste Management of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and Nurzhan Kabdoldanov, Deputy Chairman of the Management Board of JSC Zhasyl Damu. In the Aktobe region, the event was addressed by Saken Shaimurat, while in the Akmola region, Shynybai Bakhtiyar and Adilet Yesnazarov spoke.
“One of the key innovations is the inclusion of waste management companies serving the population in the list of organizations eligible for support in implementing separate waste collection and sorting systems. The government, together with JSC Zhasyl Damu, facilitates the development of the necessary infrastructure, including collection points, reverse vending machines, and specialized containers, through preferential financing mechanisms from EPR funds,” noted Nurzhan Kabdoldanov.
Participants emphasized that EcoQolday opens new opportunities for the development of recycling, makes the industry more transparent and efficient, and encourages companies to adopt modern environmental practices.
JSC Zhasyl Damu will continue its efforts to implement and promote the EcoQolday system, actively supporting environmental initiatives, developing infrastructure for separate waste collection and recycling, and fostering ecological culture in Kazakhstan.
