A ceremony was held in Almaty to transfer 50 units of modern specialized equipment to "Ak Tartip" LLP, the largest operator for the collection and disposal of household solid waste in the metropolis.
The event was attended by the Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Mayor of Almaty, the management of JSC “Zhasyl Damu” , JSC “Industry Development Fund”, as well as representatives of business and the public. The transferred equipment was purchased under a government program of concessional financing through disposal payments. The total project amount was 3.3 billion tenge. Financing was provided by JSC “Zhasyl Damu” through JSC “ Industry Development Fund” in the form of a loan at 3% per annum for a term up to 7 years. "This project is a prime example of how disposal payments return to the country's economy and help businesses implement environmentally significant initiatives. This is not just an equipment, it is a step towards a systematically improving the environmental situation in Almaty and other regions. We will continue this work systematically, expanding the geography and scale of such projects throughout the country," emphasized Minister of Ecology Ye. Nysanbayev.
The basis of the transferred fleet was made up of garbage trucks with a crane manipulator units based on JAC N200, produced in Kazakhstan at the SaryarkaAvtoProm plant in Kostanay. The machines are equipped with Euro-5 environmental diesel engines, a 12 cubic meter rear loading system, Turkish-made hydraulics and a crane manipulator with a boom reach of up to 6.3 meters- suitable for servicing underground waste containers.
As noted by representatives of the manufacturer, this is not just specialized equipment, but a contribution to the ecological future of our cities and significant support for domestic machine building. "Approximately 1,500 tons of household solid waste are removed daily in Almaty. This involves 283 units of specialized equipment. Updating the fleet with new machines will increase the efficiency of removal and reduce the load on existing equipment. This is an important step in creating a modern waste management system and implementing the principles of a green economy, which the city is consistently striving for,"noted Mayor of the city D. Satybaldy. The company “Ak Tartip” serves more than 1 million residents of Almaty daily, 14,000 legal entities, about 1,400 container sites, and also provides household solid waste disposal using more than 230 units of equipment and the efforts of 400 line workers. The new garbage trucks will significantly modernize the fleet and improve the quality and timeliness of waste disposal. The implementation of the project will also create more than 50 new jobs and increase the efficiency of the dispatching system. This project is being implemented as part of the national environmental initiative "Taza Kazakhstan" and is one of 63 projects aimed at developing waste management infrastructure throughout the country.
