To mark the International Plastic Bag-Free Day, the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, together with JSC “Zhasyl Damu”, organized a press tour to the plastic waste recycling and eco-friendly garden and park furniture production plant of ECOMAF LLP in the city of Astana.
ECOMAF LLP is a Kazakhstani manufacturing company operating since 2020. The enterprise became the first in the country to use the technology of recycling polymer waste with the addition of sand, which allows creating durable and long-lasting products for urban infrastructure. The company's products are characterized by high strength, comparable to natural stone, possess anti-vandal and wear-resistant characteristics, are resistant to moisture, corrosion and biodegradation, retain their properties in the temperature range from -60 to +70 °C, and are also environmentally friendly and durable. By mixing 30% recycled polymers with 70% sand, the company annually recycles up to 100 tons of plastic waste.
This makes the company's contribution significant in reducing the burden on the environment and promoting the principles of sustainable development in Kazakhstan. JSC “Zhasyl Damu”, as the state operator of environmental initiatives, supports projects aimed at developing a circular economy and reducing waste. Supporting the modernization of the ECOMAF LLP plant will increase processing volumes, improve product quality and expand its distribution throughout Kazakhstan.
