Taza Kazakhstan: Students Learn to Sort Waste

In Astana, the eco-project continues as part of the national Clean Kazakhstan campaign. Its main goal is to teach children how to properly sort household waste and develop habits of caring for the environment.

Modern eco-bins for separate collection of paper, plastic, and glass are being installed in the city’s schools. The initiative is implemented by JSC Zhasyl Damu with the support of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Eco-bins have also been installed at Mukhtar Auezov Secondary School-Gymnasium №86. Now students not only learn to sort waste correctly but can also transfer collected recyclables for processing through the automated EcoQolday system. This system connects residents, waste collection companies, and recyclers, creating a closed cycle of environmental responsibility.

In addition, a competition has been announced among schools: the institution that collects the most waste through the EcoQolday system will receive valuable prizes.

Thus, the project not only teaches children to protect nature but also involves the wider community in building an ecological culture.
