A Waste Sorting and Recycling Plant Modernized in Kostanay Region with the Support of JSC “Zhasyl Damu” and JSC “Industrial Development Fund”

In the city of Rudny, Kostanay Region, the modernization of a municipal solid waste (MSW) sorting and construction waste recycling plant was carried out with financial support from JSC “Zhasyl Damu” and JSC “Industrial Development Fund.” As part of this environmental project, the acquisition of new, state-of-the-art equipment that meets international standards in this field was financed at a preferential rate of 3% per annum for a period of 13 years.

The operations of the waste processing complex Rudny-Abat-2006 LLP are aimed at recycling MSW from across the Kostanay Region, including waste generated by individuals as well as enterprises engaged in construction, installation, demolition, and dismantling works, which typically produce significant volumes of recyclable materials. The plant’s capacity will enable the annual sorting and recycling of 50,000 tons of MSW and 30,000 tons of construction waste.

The modernized enterprise will process waste such as waste paper, cardboard, plastic and polymer products, glass cullet, scrap metal, crushed stone, and non-standard construction materials.

The implementation of this project on the technical re-equipment of the waste processing complex is expected to make a significant contribution to reducing environmental impact and emissions into the environment through organized sorting, recycling, storage, and sale of secondary raw materials for reuse in production.

Thanks to the modernization of the MSW sorting and recycling facility, supported financially by JSC “Zhasyl Damu” and JSC “Industrial Development Fund,” more than 30 new jobs will be created, and the environmental safety of the region will be improved.

It should be noted that since 2024, within the framework of the Concept for Kazakhstan’s transition to a “green economy,” JSC “Zhasyl Damu,” together with the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan and JSC “Industrial Development Fund,” has been implementing a program to support enterprises engaged in sorting, recycling, and disposal of municipal solid waste, aimed at strengthening the country’s environmental balance.
